"I smoke to die.": Party Time // Chelsea and James
“Gray is a pretty color. I like grey eyes. They’re very unique and pretty.” He mumbled. “I’m really excited actually!” He was ready to let loose and have fun. He hadn’t had any good alcohol in a while.
“I’m ready to get the Irish Car Bombs going. They’re my favorite. They sort of taste like chocolate milk… but with alcohol.” He laughed and gave her a cheeky grin.
She laughed. it felt nice to have someone act normal around her.
“I’ll have to try one.” she said hoping he wouldnt be surprised she hadn’t had one. “tis may sound lame but it end to stick to rum. It’s literally my favorite thing. It’s just so good, and the way it warms your throat…. It’s just perfect.”
she smiled at him, then looked back at the road. She pulled into a parking spot next to a hummer. “I hate those cars.” she said without thinking about it. She couldn’t help herself from speaking what was going on in her mind. It was a normal thing for her. “Although it’s not much better than my jeep is it….” she laughed and slammed the door closed. Opening the back so she could help James carry the things to the beach. she led the way over to the little shack on the sand by the shoreline that she had rented earlier on. They brought the pizzas, grocieries, drinks, and liquor in and put it on the counter. She instantly realized it was quiet, got up and went to get her stereo. it had a connecter so she could plug in her Iphone. The kooks started playing softly in the background.
“I hope you don’t mind,” she said, “I just love them. Do you know The Kooks?”
“Well, I’ll make you one and we can have a race on who can chug it faster deal?” He laughed as she pulled into the parking spot. She said something about the Hummer next to us and I turned to face it. It was an ugly car, a very ugly car.
“I hate them too,” he laughed. Getting out, he went around to the back and started grabbing things. Taking them over to the beach area he saw Chelsea go get her stereo. She plugged in her iPhone and he listened, not recognizing the band playing. She questioned him about it.
“No, I’ve never hear of them before, they’re pretty good though.” He mumbled, hoping not to sound like a dork.
She smiled laughing quietly to herself. Just because he didn’t know a band didn’t mean he had to seem unsecured about it. It was what tended to happen around Chelsea. She was onto the indie retro bands that never played on the radio. If he had known the looks it would have been awesome but tit didn’t matter that he didn’t either. She just hoped that he could listen to the music without complaining. The kooks tended to do some unexpected things and she didn’t know how he’d take it.
You don’t live me started playing and she started dancing. She knew she had to get ready but why not let loose a little. Her hips swayed in time with the music, and her arms moved above her head. She began to sing along “you don’t love me the way that I love you, for if you did you would not do those things you do…!” she almost forgot that James was there with her. She turned and blushed at him. “sorry,” she said, “I tend to lose myself when there’s music.” she felt like a child for satin that, but she couldn’t help it. She didn’t mean to have him doing all the work as she danced the day away listening I her music. She walked into the little kitchen an began cutting up the fruits and putting them in a big bowl. Fruit salad was her favorite snack do she knew she had to make some for the party. She worked while hoping she hadn’t made James feel awkward.

“Oh.” He could tell she was lying but didn’t want to say anything else. He smiled and tried to change the subject.
“So, what’s your favorite color? My favorite color is blue.” He was trying to make her happy. He hated seeing girls sad, it was a shame.
She laughed at the change of conversation, glad that the subject was dropped. she didnt want to deal with things anymore, she just wanted to have fun and live life.
“My favorite color is gray actually… It sounds depressing but I only like it if it looks silver in the light.” she smiled, remembering how when she and her mom painted her room silver-gray. It was one of the good memories she had.
“Are you excited for the party?” she asked, turning towards him and meeting his eyes. She knew she was but she wanted to make sure he was still up for it.

“I’m from here. I was born here and I grew up here.” He noticed how vacant she looked. James set a hand on her shoulder and smiled. “Are you okay?”They were almost to the beach and that meant soon the party would start.
She was surprised when he asked if she was okay… no one usually did so, but she didnt want him to pity her so she just nodded.
“Yeah.” she said, “why wouldn’t I be. I have so much to be thankful for.” She was trying to convince herself that she was okay more that trying to convince James. She did not want to cry in front of him.
What she really wanted to say was, No I’m not. I don’t remember the last time i was happy. I cant stand anything anymore. I see no reason to wake up. Its the hardest thing Ive ever dome and it gets harder everyday.
She wouldn’t say this of course because she was supposed to be happy. She had nothing t be upset about… She should be happy! They stopped at a red light down the road from the beach, and Chelsea looked out the drivers window and let tears fill her eyes. She wiped them away after a few fell and hoped she would break anymore than she was. she needed to get drunk and forget about all of this.

They paid and walked out to the car. Once he got in he heard her say, “I’m an only child.” He turned to see her and she blurted out some more.
“I’m an only child also.” He smiled, “I’m also not as rich as everyone else… I mean we get by fine but we don’t have as much as everyone.” He was blushing, he had never told anyone else that.

She opened her mouth a little surprised he was being open about this. She closed it smiling hoping she didn’t seem like a prick for having her mouth gaping open.
“My family does really well, actually…” she didn’t want to seem like a spoiled brat but that’s how she appeared to everyone around her. She always got what she wanted when she wanted it, but it never made her happy. “I mean… We have money…” She looked out the window and then turned back to focus on the road. Her eyes were being vacant like they usually did when she thought of her home. Sure, things seemed fine, but no one ever knew the truth.
She forced a smile and looked at James hoping her believed it. “So where are you from? I know that’s a strange thing to ask but… whatever.” She laughed at her awkwardness and waited for his reply, wondering if instead he would ask her about why she was upset, she doubted he noticed her faulter though..

She was happy that he went and got food, she didnt want to seem like a pig. When he mentioned his salsa she was a little surprised but laughed when he anounced his feelings. “Good I’m glad youre happy.” She manouvered the cart to the self check out, prefering to deal with a machine than human interraction. In the end the food wasnt as much s she thought and they walled put of the store together carrying the bags. In the car onthe way to the pizza place she decided to tell ja,es a little bit Bout herself. “Im an only child,” she saod and then realized how random ot was for her blurt that out. “Sorry, if that was… kond of sttange.. me just saying that but i fogure since we are stuck in the car together we could talk, and get to know each other.” She didnt want to come ontoo strong but from what came out of her mouth it was inevitable to avoid now..Chelsea almost skipped into the store. She wanted all of the food, and boy did she have money for it. They walked through the store filling the grocery cart with whatever food they found that people loved. There were fruits and soadas, some veggies with dip. Chelsea liked the healthy foods and hey, healthy was good. When they got to the junk food isle though, there were three types of chips, two more dips, some cookies, plastic cups, and paler plates. She had already placed the order for a few pizzes and thats where they were headed after they were done here. “So, do you want to get anything? I dont want to leave you out of the excitement.” She blushed hoping she wasnt seeming bossy. She really like james, she liked hangong out with him. Chelsea finally felt like she had a good friend and she hoped he understood how she felt.
James smiled as Chelsea grabbed food. He looked around wondering what to get. Eventually she asked if he wanted to get anything, he looked around and ran over to the chips, grabbing four things of regular pringles. Then he went and grabbed cookies, salsa, peaches, mangoes, and chips. He smiled and walked back over to Chelsea.
“I have stuff to make my favorite salsa! I’m now pleased.” He was in a really good mood now.

Chelsea was pumped as she grabbed her purse and keys and headed out the door. Parties were her kind of thing and she knew how to throw the most badass party. She couldnt help but run to her car in excitement. She put the key in and the engine turned over. The music was blaring as she drove with…
James was grabbing all of his nice alcohol. He grabbed all the required variations for ‘Car Bombs’ then some extra bottles of Guinness and some several boxes of ‘1554’. His hands where pretty full and so was his bag of drinks. He also grabbed some margarita mix for the girls that would come. The beach had a bar that they could hopefully use.
His phone dinged and he walked over to the counter, ‘From: Chels’, it read. He picked up his phone and read her text, quickly replying with a, ‘Be there in a sec, gonna change.’. He ran upstairs and switched into his swim shorts, a white t-shirt, and blue jumper. Running back down he grabbed all the alcohol and opened the door. Running out to Chelsea’s car he set the drinks down, going back to get his phone, sunglasses, and shut the door. Walking back out he smirked. ‘Party starts now, bitches!”, he thought as he opened the car door. “Yo, Chels.”
She waited for a few minutes and got a text telling her he had to change. She shrugged and tapped her hands on the steering wheel along to the beat of the music. She had her bathing suit already on, a new bikini she picked up a few days ago, and was looking forward to this. It was what everyone needed.
“Yo, Chels.” He said as he out the alcohol in the pack. She smiled and rolled her eyes thankful that he had fine taste in alcohol. She would not have to break out the Captain and she was very happy about that.
“Hey.” she said wondering what was going to happen next. “So, Do you want to head straight to the beach or do we have to stop and get some things… We should at least get some snacks right? I mean… I don’t know about you but I love food.” She backed out of the driveway and started driving towards the nearest wegmans. She needed food to have a good time, and everyone came for the food. If it was free food, people were bound to show up.
He frowned, how could she even think to ask about food. Of course they needed food and he was starving.
“We should get a lot of food. Also who all did you invite to the party?” I grabbed a box of ‘1554’ and took one out, opening it. I took a big sip of it and swallowed, sighing. This was some damn good beer. He smiled and put his sunglasses on. Looking down at his phone he noticed the time… 4:56. Not late at all. Oh well. Starting the party early.
She smiled when he talked about the food. This boy was from her own heart obviously. They shared a love of food, and it was a strong bonding between everyone.
“Oh well, I invited Nova, georgia, and the rest of the people I semi know. Basically anyone can come so if you have friends you want to invite tell them the more the merrier.” She honestly couldn’t care less. She loved jam packed parties but if this was a smaller one then no big deal. She would deal with it and make the best of it. She noticed he had already took a beer and smirked. She couldnt help herself but find it amusing that he seemed to be enjoying the taste. They pulled into wegmans and she found the perfect parking spot right near the doors. She parked the car and looked up at James holding her credit card between her index and middle finger. “Are you ready to buy all the food we can eat and more?” she asked raising her eyebrows.
